USA Network has renewed Suits for a third season.

The cable network has ordered 16 more episodes of the legal drama, it was announced Friday by USA co-presidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber.

“Quite simply, Suits is as good as it gets. Sophisticated storytelling, sharp dialogue, and award-worthy performances make this show a cornerstone of our original programming lineup,” said Wachtel and McCumber in a joint statement.

Created by Aaron Korsh, who was featured in THR's annual top 50 showrunners list this year, Suits was the summer's top cable drama among adults 18-49. The summer finale hit ratings highs across all demographics and viewers, averaging 4.5 million.

Suits centers on hotshot Manhattan lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) who hires an associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who didn't exactly graduate from law school. Rick Hoffman, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty and Meghan Markle co-star in the Universal Cable Productions series.

The second half of season two, which consists of six episodes, will return in January.

Suits' pickup joins recently renewed USA shows White Collar, Royal Pains and Covert Affairs.
