The Social Network actor Abhi Sinha has joined ABC Family's Terminales drama pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

ABC Family's adaptation of the Mexican format by Miguel Angel Fox centers on April (Italia Ricci), a 23-year-old girl diagnosed with a terminal illness but has big dreams of becoming a real reporter.

In the hourlong pilot, Sinha will play the role of 24-year-old Danny, an intense, well-dressed Harvard grad who is naturally competitive with his friend April. Like April, Danny is a fellow Boston Globe "floater," and constantly complains to April about his frustration at being on the sidelines.

Aaron Kaplan (GCB) will serve as an executive producer on the Lionsgate/Televisa project, with Susanna Fogel and Joni Lefkowitz, who wrote the pilot, also serving as EPs. Soap veteran Mary Page Keller is also among the cast members.

Repped by The Glick Agency and Caliber Media Company, Sinha played Vakrim in David Fincher's The Social Network, and had roles in People Like Us and In Time. He will next appear in The Philosophers with James D'Arcy, Sophie Lowe and Rhys Wakefield. Sinha's TV credits include Bones, Greek and How I Met Your Mother.

Terminales is one of several pilot orders given out by ABC Family; the others include Gavin Polone's Socio and Jennifer Lopez's project centered on a lesbian couple. Should Terminales go to series, it would join dramas like Switched at Birth and Pretty Little Liars on the network's slate.
