Gene Hackman reportedly slapped a homeless man who threatened the actor and his wife outside a restaurant in Sante Fe, New Mexico on Tuesday.
A man named Bruce Becker is said to have approached the couple in menacing fashion, at one point calling Hackman’s wife a “c**t.”
The expletive led Hackman hit Becker in the face, according to TMZ.
Becker reportedly called the police to report the incident, but cops determined that Hackman had acted in self-defense.
No charges have been filed.
