Paranormal Activity 4 looks like it will scare up a big box office victory this weekend, with early estimates putting the hit series’ latest installment at roughly $34 million.
If the figures hold, the low-budget thriller should beat holdovers like Ben Affleck’s political drama Argo ($19 million) and the family-friendly Hotel Transylvania ($15 million).
Meanwhile, Alex Cross, starring Tyler Perry in the title role, is in a neck-and-neck battle with Liam Neeson’s Taken 2 for the #4 spot — both movies are tracking toward about $13.5 million.
Here Comes The Boom, with Kevin James as an aspiring MMA fighter, should finish in sixth place with $9.5 million, just ahead of the horror flick Sinister ($8.5 million).
The a cappella ensemble comedy Pitch Perfect ($7 million) should place eighth, with Frankenweenie ($5.5 million) and Looper ($4 million) rounding out the Top 10.
