Lance Armstrong was officially stripped of his seven Tour de France titles on Monday, after the The International Cycling Union announced that it would not appeal the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to bar the athlete from competitive cycling for life.

In August, Armstrong revealed that he will no longer fight the performance-enhancing drug charges that have dogged him for years.

Now, the organization that runs the Tour de France will erase the cyclist’s name from its record books.

Pat McQuaid, the president of the cycling union, said in a press conference on Monday that Armstrong “has no place in cycling.”

Armstrong has vehemently denied the doping charges.

The World Anti-Doping Agency now has 21 days to decide whether it will appeal the ruling. If it does not, Armstrong’s case is officially over.

What do you think of Armstrong being stripped of his titles?
