Kathie Lee Gifford is trying to recover from the trauma of dropping a puppy on live television.
The incident happened on Thursday’s “Today Show,” when the adorable pup took a tumble from Gifford’s arms, as co-host Hoda Kotb — and America — looked on in horror.

On Friday, Gifford spoke with Matt Lauer and the rest of the “Today” crew by phone, recounting the doggie drop.
“The puppy’s OK, but I’m a wreck!” lamented Gifford, noting that she has three dogs of her own and adores them.
We’re assured the puppy is completely fine health-wise, although Gifford and Kotb were both quick to point out that the canine had one lingering problem.
“That dog reeked,” announced Gifford. “He was adorable, but he stunk.”
