‘Glee’s’ Ryan Murphy Planning Two Tribute Episodes, Valentine’s Wedding (Video)

Mashups, Duets and More

"Glee's" Michael Jackson tribute

Glee is going back to the tribute well.

The Fox musical -- which has already paid tribute to Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, Madonna and Britney Spears (twice) -- isn't done with the hourlong dedications this season.

"We're working on two tribute episodes," co-creator/showrunner Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm not ready to announce yet because it's not clear, but fun stuff."

While details are being kept under wraps, Murphy this season has hinted that he wants to settle the Madonna/Elton John feud that erupted earlier this year. "A big GLEE goal this year: a Madonna/Elton John mashup. #gayhatchetburying," he wrote on Twitter in August.

Tribute episodes have been a mixed bag for the series. The first Spears offering in November 2010 notched a then-series high, topping its Madonna effort. Its 90-minute Lady Gaga entry -- the 18th episode of season two -- registered a season low at the time with a 3.4 rating and 8.6 million viewers. This year's "Britney 2.0" collected a 2.9 in the demo and 7.5 million total viewers.

Murphy -- speaking at the opening of The Hollywood Reporter's Design Hollywood showhouse at The Century as part of THR's inaugural Design Issue for which he was the cover story -- also noted he's plotting a Valentine's Day wedding, declining to provide specifics. Also to keep an eye out for: Glee's Christmas episode, which Murphy described as "very emotional." "We've taken characters that you wouldn't expect should be together and put them together," he teased, noting it's done in a very Love Actually fashion.
