“Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are being kept apart — by movie executives who are worried about how fans will react to their rekindled romance,” reports Showbiz Spy.
The webloid explains that the real reason the stars (along with Taylor Lautner) will be traveling to “different continents” for Breaking Dawn – Part 2 promotional duties is because the studio is worried about how fans will react to a reunion.
“Many of Rob’s fans are still angry with Kristen and it has been decided that all three should go their separate ways,” explains a Showbiz Spy “source.”
To illustrate its point, the site steals unrelated quotes from an old RadarOnline story that claimed Stewart and Pattinson’s current status is “still a bit of a conundrum.”
“He’s still not completely convinced that giving their relationship another chance is the right thing to do,” explains the Radar “source.”
The Radar insider adds, “There are moments when he continually asks her questions about the affair — so it’s all still very tense — they have some really serious trust issues.”
Wait, so is this about fans or the studio or Pattinson himself?
Showbiz Spy can’t decide.
In any case, none of it has anything to do with Showbiz Spy’s bogus claim about Stewart and Pattinson being “kept apart” in the coming weeks.
As Gossip Cop reported, the two stars WILL be making joint appearances for Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Moreover, the reason that Stewart, Pattinson, Lautner, and other cast members like Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz will be traveling to different continents for promotional purposes is the same reason it’s always been done this way for the Twilight franchise — to maximize the movie’s exposure in as many countries as possible before international release.
Period.
It’s amazing how outlets are trying to play both possibilities — Stewart and Pattinson reuniting and Stewart and Pattinson not reuniting — as evidence of secret, behind-the-scenes publicity moves.
Conspiracy theorists on both sides will see what they want to see.
Of course, Showbiz Spy’s desperation for a scoop has led to a recent series of false stories, so we’re not too surprised about the latest baseless speculation.
A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop the idea that anyone is keeping Stewart and Pattinson “apart” during the film’s promotion is “total nonsense.”
