Andy Samberg is coming home.

The former Saturday Night Live featured player has been tapped to star in the untitled Fox comedy from Parks and Recreation's Mike Schur and Dan Goor, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The single-camera comedy revolves around an eclectic group of detectives in a precinct on the fringes of New York City. Samberg will play the top cop at the station in the project, which landed at Fox with a put-pilot commitment after a multiple-network bidding war in August. Samberg will also serve as an executive producer on the project.

For Samberg, the Fox comedy marks his second small-screen gig after he departed NBC's Saturday Night Live in June. He joined the sketch comedy series in 2005 and, like other SNL players, has since segued into a feature film career that's included That's My Boy, opposite Adam Sandler. The actor-comedian joined SNL the season after Schur departed the Lorne Michaels series as a writer-producer.
