ABC is showing confidence in rookie dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue.

The network has ordered two more scripts for Shawn Ryan and Karl Gajdusek's ambitious submarine drama and the supernatural thriller, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Ryan tweeted the good news regarding Last Resort on Friday afternoon: "Just got a call from ABC. Additional scripts ordered for #LastResort. Onward and upward."

Last Resort began modestly in the competitive 8 p.m. Thursday time slot in its late September premiere, dipping for two weeks in the ratings before seeing an uptick with the fourth episode. Season-to-date, Last Resort -- led by Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman -- has averaged 7.8 million viewers and 1.9 in the adults 18-49 demo.

In a chat with THR, Ryan discussed the show's ratings battle. "Everyone would always like to have the No. 1 show on TV. Instead, we're going against the No. 1 show on TV with Big Bang Theory," he said of the time slot competition. "I think ABC acknowledges that we're doing better than their previous shows in the time slot over the past few years and they love the show creatively."

666 Park Avenue, in its 10 p.m. Sunday home, has also been a modest ratings performer for ABC, averaging 5.6 million viewers per week in its first three episodes. Terry O'Quinn, Vanessa Williams, Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor star.

Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue are the latest ABC freshmen series to receive additional script orders, joining comedy The Neighbors, which received an order for three more scripts earlier this month.
