As The CW's 90210 heads toward its 100th episode milestone, the cast is taking time to reflect on the past five seasons.
The characters on the modern-day Beverly Hills, 90210 have been through hell and back, but as Michael Steger, who plays Navid Shirazi, told The Hollywood Reporter, the most affecting storyline dealt with a potentially life-changing disease.
"The storyline that stuck with me was dealing with Silver's (Jessica Stroup) Braca gene and the circumstances that follow that," he said in the THR Cover Lounge. "I had no idea that so many women suffered from that."

Added Steger: "That whole concept really played with everybody's heads, especially Silver's. It was interesting to take all that in."
It was crucial for Steger, who has been on the series since its 2008 debut, to get inside Navid's mindset during that part of his character's arc.
"For Navid, making logical sense to how one would deal with someone dealing with that and being approached with possibly having a child right away because [Silver's] suffering from the Braca gene," he said.
Steger did admit that it was hard for him to deal with his character's forgiving ways.

"There has been so much betrayal, so much backstabbing, so much goes on behind the scenes with the friends and Navid is fighting to stay in there," he explained. "He's very resilient. He's always there for people when they need him, even when they're not the best of friends. Finding the logic in that has been the most challenging."
On a lighter note, 90210 has landed several key musical guests this season, including Nelly Furtado, Carly Rae Jepsen and Taio Cruz. Who would Steger like to see on the show?
"Kings of Leon would be great, The Killers would be awesome, the list goes on and on," Steger said.
90210 airs 8 p.m. Mondays on The CW.
