James Van Der Beek appeared on Conan O’Brien’s show for the first time in 14 years this week — only to be interrupted by a fire alarm.

The actor was in the midst of a very amusing conversation about the “demented” version of himself he plays on “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23″ when a loud blaring could be heard in the studio.
After some momentary confusion, it turned out to be the fire alarm.
We’ve never seen that before.
As O’Brien joked, it might be another 14 years until Van Der Beek returns.
