“Charlize Theron has fallen for an unlikely new man – Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet,” begins a story from The Sun.
The British tabloid “reports” the “slender South African model and actress was introduced to the portly sitcom star by mutual friends in Los Angeles earlier this year,” and that “they get along incredibly well.”
According to a so-called “source” for the paper, “They started off as friends but things are blossoming between them.”
“Eric is down to earth and funny and Charlize thinks the world of him,” says the alleged “insider,” adding, “It’s early days but they’re very fond of each other.”
Here’s what’s accurate about the story: The Sun published a photo of Stonestreet and Theron together (albeit from a party nearly half a year ago).
Here’s what’s NOT accurate about the story: EVERYTHING.
Theron and Stonestreet are NOT dating.
His rep tells Gossip Cop there is “no truth” to the report.
And Stonestreet himself made fun of the claim, joking on Twitter: “I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating. Its starting to make Halle Berry jealous.”
