In a wide-ranging and emotional interview on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” Kelsey Grammer opened up about everything from his history with drugs and his contentious divorce from Camille Grammer, to his new life with wife Kayte and their newborn daughter.

Grammer, who refused to utter Camille’s name, revealed that — for him — the marriage was essentially already over by the time it really got started.
Staying together, he said, was more about keeping up a facade, one that came crashing down in 2010 when he secretly started a relationship with then-flight attendant Katye.
So, why, then, did the former “Fraiser” star participate with Camille on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”?
To him, it was a parting gift of sorts.
“I did believe that I owed something to that person,” Grammer said, “that I owed fame.”
He added, “She always wanted to be famous.”
As for “Housewives” making it appear as if Grammer blindsided Camille when he sought a divorce, the actor downplayed the suggestion.
“That was stuff,” he told Oprah, “Reality. It’s a reality show. So it’s a show.”
In her first-ever TV interview, Katye said that “people judging” her and “not knowing anything about the truth” has been the most difficult part of her new life.
That’s not to say she and Grammer haven’t struggled in their relationship.
Kayte recalled thinking, “How could he have done a reality show when he was saying he loved me and all this stuff?”
