“Robert Pattinson is reportedly looking to ‘spend millions on a makeover’ after Kristen Stewart cheated on him and humiliated him in front of the world!” declares HollywoodLife.
The webloid is one of several outlets to pick up a rumor, apparently first attributed to an “insider” for Look magazine, that claims the actor is “working on a six-month image overhaul.”
Um, why, exactly, would Pattinson need an “image overhaul”?
“Rob wants to show Kristen what she’s thrown away,” explains the so-called “insider.”
The source continues, “He’s spent a fortune in the past two weeks on his hair, teeth whitening and a spray tan,” adding that Pattinson has supposedly been buying an “array of Gucci suits” and ramping up his exercise regimen.
Uh-huh.
A couple of things.
First of all, we’d like to know how a spray tan, personal training and new suits could add up to “millions” of dollars.
We’d especially be curious to hear the alleged “insider” break down exactly how Pattinson is supposedly spending the money since the actor is famously, and proudly, thrifty in his purchases.
More importantly, none of this makes any sense.
The webloids seem to be using Pattinson’s recent stylish appearances to claim the past two weeks have been the start of some major personal makeover.
Um, no — he just came back into the public eye, as per his Cosmopolis obligations.
HollywoodLife’s story says Pattinson hopes to “completely transform his appearance.”
Seriously: Where is any evidence of this?
Is the site praying that everyone forgets about this prediction when, six months from now, Pattinson has not turned into someone else?
The notion that Pattinson is trying to shame Stewart by spending a large fortune on his teeth and tan is just the latest attempt to sensationalize their situation beyond the facts, milking it for as much phony controversy as possible.
From an outlet that’s falsely linked Pattinson to Katy Perry, claimed he “dissed” Twilight and propagated fake Stewart engagement rumors, we can’t say we’re too surprised.
