Katie Holmes is “torn between two worlds,” claims Life & Style.
The magazine says the actress is “trying to make a new life” for herself and daughter Suri in New York, but “there’s a big part of her that longs to be in Ohio with her family.”
Life & Style speculates that Holmes was sad to leave her hometown of Toledo after visiting with Suri earlier this month, quoting an “eyewitness” who saw a “teary-eyed” Holmes saying goodbye to her family on August 16.
(Because goodbyes are usually such happy occasions?)
A source for the tabloid, which has been trying to portray both Holmes and her six-year-old daughter as basket cases in the wake of the Tom Cruise divorce, claims the newly single mom “has always been caught between two worlds, but she’s even more torn now that she’s left Tom and is living in New York with Suri.”
For evidence, Life & Style offers… nothing.
The tab just makes the case that Holmes “looked so happy” during her midwest get-away with Suri, relaxing with family, visiting an ice cream shop and generally enjoying the time away from the media circus.
In other words, behaving exactly like any other person during a pleasant hometown trip.
But the notion that her Ohio trip underscored any kind of deep, new feelings Holmes has of being “torn” between the two places she calls home is simply untrue.
Holmes was a Hollywood star living far from Toledo way before she met and married Cruise, and Gossip Cop is told she’s long loved the vibe of New York — and still plans to visit her relatives in Ohio.
A Holmes pal tells Gossip Cop, “She’s very happy in New York, and she always wanted to live in New York.”
