The summer blockbuster season isn't even over and Taylor is already the biggest loser with three flops - the latest being Savages .
Following a supporting role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the actor was listed as Hollywood's newest generation of leading men. He quickly picked up lead roles in big-budget blockbusters in what was supposed to be his make-or-break year. Unfortunately for him, all of his films have performed below expectations.
John Carter
The "Indiana Jones on Mars" was his first leading role. The movie was also meant to position Taylor as an action star and establish a new film franchise (with sequels to follow). Neither happened.

Battleship
Battleship turned out to be nothing more than Transformers in water. And like previous water-based epics before it, it sank at the box office. This did nothing to erase the embarrassment of John Carter.

Savages
Taylor was cast after Oliver Stone saw raw footage of him in Battleship, which Stone thought was enough to feature him as the lead of the ensemble film. Unfortunately, the movie was moved up from September to a summer weekend with Spider-man. Oops.
