“Brad Pitt has turned into a groomzilla!” declares the National Enquirer.
The know-nothing tabloid says Pitt, who became engaged to Angelina Jolie in April, is “driving his wife-to-be crazy” by obsessing over wedding details.
One so-called “insider” tells the Enquirer, “Brad is determined to throw a party no one will ever forget. He could leave the heavy lifting to a wedding planner, but he’s too detail oriented.”
Specifics, please?
Well, the Enquirer first repeats its 100% fabricated claim that Pitt and Jolie had a “secret beach wedding” in the Bahamas last spring, inadvertently reminding everyone of just how untrustworthy its reporting on the couple is.
Now Pitt is supposedly orchestrating an August 11 event at their Chateau Miraval estate in France.
The Enquirer fails to say whether this alleged wedding date corresponds with the one it falsely claimed Jolie was picking with the help of a Buddhist astrologer.
In any case, the contradictory tab goes on to allege that Pitt is meeting with local French farmers about the menu, conducting taste tests with “most of Europe’s top chefs,” assembling a wine list and picking outfits for his six children to wear on the big day.
According to the Enquirer, the “micromanaging groom-to-be” is also working out the travel logistics for supposed guests like George Clooney, Clint Eastwood and Johnny Depp, and is putting his kids through “dry runs of the ceremony.”
“Angie just rolls her eyes,” says the magazine’s “insider,” adding, “She doesn’t want any part of it. She told him, ‘Just tell me what time to show up.’”
Uh-huh.
Far be it from us to question a publication whose recent track record with Pitt and Jolie alternates between revolting sensationalism and bizarre conspiracy theories, but the Enquirer’s report on Pitt’s alleged “wedding fever” is based on nothing.
Just as it’s been making up supposed wedding dates and details for months, the Enquirer’s account of “groomzilla” Pitt’s obsession with those specifics is “100% false,” a source close to the couple tells Gossip Cop.
