VIDEO“Worried Cowell Admits Britney Needs Help,” blares another sensationalized headline from the National Enquirer in what has to be the hundredth installment of the Britney Spears-Simon Cowell supposed drama saga on “The X Factor” set.
In this particular tale, the mag claims Cowell “is so worried she’ll look like a laughingstalk on ‘The X Factor’ that he’s hired a speech tutor to help polish the pop star’s prose.”
The tabloid says that under Spears’ $15 million contract, she’s “required to undergo two-hour training sessions five days a week with a diction coach.”
According to a so-called “insider” for the mag, “Simon adores Britney, but he worries that she’s not well-spoken and prone to word gaffes when she’s not following a script.”
The alleged source explains, “Simon was bothered that Brit couldn’t get through a sentence without saying ‘um’ and ‘like,’” adding, “She also has a bad habit of chomping on bubble gum when she’s talking, but he put an end to that right away.”
Oh, please.
Spears has been a superstar since she was a teenager — meaning she’s had years and years of experience and training in public speaking.
And the singer has handled herself wonderfully in the audition videos and show promos (see below) that have come out so far.
In any case, reps for Cowell and Spears tell Gossip Cop the speech therapy tale is “completely not true.”
Once again, the National Enquirer makes like, um like, another embarrassing blunder.
