Anne Hathaway is Les Miserables.
Universal Pictures released the first official trailer Wednesday of Tom Hooper's big screen adaptation.
Set in 19th-century France, the video features a skinny, miserable Hathaway singing the well-known tune "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical. The 29-year-old actress plays Fantine, a prostitute who is suffering from a terminal case of tuberculosis. She is forced to sell her hair in order to provide for her daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried).
