Patrick Dempsey is the victim of a death hoax.
A rumor that the “Grey’s Anatomy” star had died spread like wildfire on Twitter on Thursday.
“RIP Patrick Dempsey” became a worldwide trending topic, only further fueling speculation.
It is 100% false.
Dempsey is alive and well.
The rumor appears to have started with a fake Tweet from a “Grey’s Anatomy” fan site, which morphed into a phony story that Dempsey was killed in a car accident.
Hopefully these types of sick rumors will die out.
