A story that began in the Daily Mail and is now being picked up by other outlets claims Rihanna and Jennifer Hudson have been “shortlisted” to play Whitney Houston in a movie about the late singer.
Houston’s mentor and close friend Clive Davis is said to be “at the helm” of the project and “wants to get a script finalized as soon as possible so filming can begin,” reports the Mail.
The newspaper says Rihanna and Hudson are “in the running for the lead role,” and also tosses in names like Vivica A. Fox and Jordin Sparks, and even Willow Smith (“thought to be portraying the actress as a child”).
But it is NOT TRUE.
NO movie being readied, and neither Rihanna nor Hudson (nor anyone else) is on track to play Houston.
Davis’ rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop, “There is no truth to this. Clive is not putting together a biopic.”
