Don Cornelius, who created the musical variety show “Soul Train,” was reportedly found dead on Wednesday in an apparent suicide.
He was 75.
Cornelius died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to TMZ.
He was reportedly found by law enforcement officials in his Sherman Oaks, California home, and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
“Soul Train,” which ran from 1971 – 2006, was incredibly influential to American pop culture.
Cornelius hosted the show until 1996.
