The U.S. military is winning at the box office.
Act of Valor, starring active duty Navy SEALS, is expected to debut to $27 million and a weekend triumph.
Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds looks like it will also have a strong opening, with the drama currently on pace for $18 million and a second-place finish.
After that, it’s a tight battle among three films each in their third week of release.
Family-friendly adventure flick Journey 2: The Mysterious Island ($12.5 million) will likely beat out Denzel Washington-Ryan Reynolds thriller Safe House ($10.5 million) and Channing Tatum-Rachel McAdams love affair The Vow ($10 million).
The spies-in-love action-romantic comedy This Means War is on pace for $9 million, with comic book sequel Ghost Rider 2 right behind at $8 million.
Meanwhile, it’s looking like two new movies – Jennifer Aniston’s comedy Wanderlust ($7 million) and Amanda Seyfried’s Gone ($4.5 million) – are destined to open toward the bottom of the chart.
