Sinead O’Connor has apparently ended her marriage for the second time in less than a month.
In a meandering statement posted to her official site on Friday, the musician explains that she’s had to break things off with new husband Barry Herridge because of the “very serious damage” done to his well being media outlets she describes as “pure evil.”
While her allegations are vague, O’Connor says “certain sections of our media… caused enormous damage deliberately and maliciously to my innocent flower of a husband, purely because he was with me.”
Going on to say that Herridge’s “association with me became something very bad for his life,” O’Connor explains that his persecution and her own subsequent depression “made the marriage untenable so that it is now over.”
O’Connor and Herridge were married on December 8, only to part ways 16 days later before eventually reconciling.
Now it could be done for good.
In fact, O’Connor vows that she will “never again associate myself romantically with anyone as I could not bear to see these things done again to someone I love.”
