The “American Idol” season premiere on Thursday featured a contestant with one of the most unusual back-stories in the show’s history.
Amy Brumfield revealed she and her boyfriend live in a tent – and took the “Idol” cameras to their abode in the woods to prove it.
The judges seemed to be as caught off guard by Brumfield’s story as by her powerful take on Alicia Keys’ “Superwoman.”
“The spirits of the children in the woods snuck into you,” Steven Tyler told her. “Out of the tent and into Hollywood.”
